ABOUT US

THE ORGANIZATION

​

The Ultra Trail des Chic-Chocs (UTCC) team is made up of passionate outdoors, mountain and extreme sports enthusiasts. We, Alexis Poirier, Félix Dubeau and Stéphane Gagnon, the founders of the UTCC, are involved in our community and love the Gaspésie and the Chic-Chocs mountains massif.  We believe in the sustainable exploitation of our mountains and aim to preserve this jewel.  The event is 100% locally organized and its main office is located in Sainte-Anne-des-Monts.

The UTCC is managed, organized and operated by Choc Événements, a not-for-profit organization.  This organization aims to develop the Haute-Gaspésie potential nationally and internationally by organizing authentic and top quality sports and cultural events all the while encouraging healthy life habits through physical activities.

​

The UTCC is also a strong and large team of local volunteers and others who come from all over Quebec and afar to give a hand to offer a high quality and safe sports event with an authentic local Gaspesian flare.

For the 2021 edition, Choc Événements is proud to count on Éric Lévesque, runner and teacher of physical education at the Matane high school as race director. Eric will be present at the event and you will be able to meet him everywhere in 2019 as he will participate in several races across Quebec as a UTCC ambassador.

THE CHIC-CHOCS MOUNTAINS

 

The Chic-Chocs are a mountain massif belonging to the Appalachian chain.  Here in this wild environment, there are several summits over 1000 meters high.  Thus, you will be called upon to give the best of your capacity in several technical trails with abrupt verticals.  This imposing playground offers stunning scenery that will lift your spirits while you run.
