  • There will be no disposable dishes on site. Participants will need to bring their own bowls for the soup service, utensils and reusable bags for the food served at the refueling stations.

  • Beer will be served in drafts in participants' retractable glasses.

  • Reusable dishes will be available for deposit in case of forgotten.

  • Volunteer meals will be served in buffet format and volunteers must bring their own containers and utensils to take their portions.

  • Reduction of all single-use materials and packaging.

Reduction of food waste:

  • Volunteer meals will be made largely from unsold food from our partner grocery store to avoid food waste.

  • Redistribution of our surplus to the organization Récupération Alimentaire Haute-Gaspésie.

03

recycle

  • Integrating the recycling of vegetal organic matter into the sorting of residual waste in a region where compost infrastuctrures are not yet in place.

  • Partnership with small poultry farmers in the region to give them our vegetable organic matter to feed their chickens.

  • Bibs made from FSC certified paper that can be recycled.

04

RETHINK

  • Encourage and promote local products.

  • Set expectations for our participants about promotional gifts that most often end up being thrown away.

  • This is the last year of the medals. These will be replaced by a certificate sent digitally.

  • Unless you volunteer a lot of hours, volunteers will only receive a bib like the runners (recyclable paper).

  • Raising awareness in our community of the issues surrounding the protection of the endangered woodland caribou in collaboration with Caribou je t'aime.
